How we handle your information.

Who we are

The Rubber Initiative® is an Australian-registered partnership operated by Michael Clayton (Australia) and Dr Matthew Thornton (United Kingdom). A UK subsidiary is planned.

What we collect

If you send us a message through the contact form, the form collects the name, email, company, country and message you submitted. If you complete The Leadership Scorecard, we collect your first name, the email address you give us, your answers to the three profile questions, your fifteen ratings, your five area scores, your total, your band and your lowest area. Nothing else is stored in your browser beyond a single cookie confirming that you've seen the cookie notice.

If you register for a workshop, registration and payment are handled by our host partners (TechnoBiz for Vienna, ACS Rubber Division for Louisville). Their privacy policies apply to those transactions.

What we do with it

We use your information to reply to you, send you the results you asked for, run the work you've asked us to do and invoice correctly where applicable. We do not sell, rent or share your details with third parties for marketing.

The Leadership Scorecard, specifically

We use your answers for two things. First, to build and send your report. Second, to work out whether the workshop is any use to you. Michael Clayton and Dr Matthew Thornton read every submission, and one of us may write to you personally about what your answers show.

We do not show your answers to anybody else. That includes anybody at your own company, whether or not they have completed it themselves.

Reply to any email from us and we stop.

Your answers are stored with Supabase. Your report is emailed to you as a PDF attachment. Email is sent through Resend. The site runs on Vercel, which counts page views and completions without advertising cookies or cross site tracking. Those three suppliers handle your details on our instructions and for nothing else.

We keep a submission for twenty four months from your last contact with us, then delete it. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, our basis for sending the report is your request for it, and our basis for the personal follow up is legitimate interest, kept to a small number of messages from a named person. You can object at any time.

How long we keep it

Business correspondence is kept while it's active and for seven years afterwards for tax and audit purposes, as required under Australian law. You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing us.

Cookies

The site sets one technical cookie, tri_cookie_consent_v1, to remember that you've dismissed the cookie banner. We count visits and completions through Vercel Analytics. There is no advertising cookie and no cross site tracking on this site.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles and the UK GDPR, you can ask us what data we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us using the contact details below and we'll act within thirty days.

If you're in Australia and are unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au. If you're in the UK or EU, you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
